Chinook salmon or king salmon as they are also known. We offer guided salmon
trips on the north Coast including Nehalem Bay, Tillamook Bay, Newport
(Yaquina river and bay), Siletz river, Nestucca and the Wilson River. These
fall king salmon often reach sizes over 50lbs. We also offer crabbing and
combo salmon crab trips for our Newport and Tillamook Bay trips. Winter is
steelhead fishing time. We guide steelhead fishing trips from December to
April on the coastal rivers as well as the Portland area rivers including
the Clackamas, Sandy, Cowlitz and Lewis rivers.
area. Sturgeon fishing always provides lots of action with 20 to 50 fish
caught in a day and some great eating fillets to take home. The Portland
sturgeon fishing is good on both rivers - the Willamette River and Columbia
River. We offer catch and keep sturgeon fishing tours Thursday, Friday and
Saturday of each week all other days are catch and release. This great
fishing takes place in the downtown area and is only a short ride from the
hotel or airport. We can help with lodging suggestions.
Chinook Salmon ("king salmon") are some of the finest eating salmon found
anywhere. Our Springer fishing runs from March into June in the
Portland area. These spring King salmon run from 12 to 40 pounds. We use
many different techniques to catch them - back bouncing - trolling -
anchoring with salmon plugs and lures. Call early on this fishing trip it is
very popular. 
May to October is truly a world class fishing experience. These huge
sturgeon enter the Columbia River in late spring from the Pacific Ocean
traveling up the Columbia to the spawning grounds below Bonneville Dam in
the Columbia River Gorge national scenic area. We fish for these giants
using fresh caught shad. We start the day shad fishing and use the whole
shad 1.5 - 5 lbs for bait. The oversized sturgeon are fish in excess of 5
feet in length. The average size fish caught is 8 feet weighing 300 lbs with
sturgeon up to and over 12 feet in length fairly common. This trip is not
for small children or persons of poor health. Giant sturgeon are very
aggressive biters, jump often and will put any angler to the test. This is a
catch and release only fishery. Call early on this one it is very popular.
